Quick Magic Gardens
How We Got Our Start
Story of the Garden
When the world slowed down in March of 2020, I was blessed to discover a new passion found in gardening at my home. As with most things, it started small.
Over the last three years, it has blossomed (see what I did there) into so much more than a garden, and I have bloomed along with it. It became an outlet, a newfound joy, and a place for my family to gather. Everyone in my family has contributed to this beautiful space in some way. We worked, weeded, built, laughed, painted, pruned, and planted together.
Eventually, I began to realize that I wanted to share this joy, this journey, and this sanctuary with my community.
Quick Magic Gardens was born from the light that I found in the darkness of March 2020. My hope is that it reaches into your heart and gives you a piece of the light it has given to me.
Mary Glisson-Keller

Mary is a (not so) retired behavior analyst and has dedicated many years of her life to helping children in Southern Illinois get a better start in life. She raised five children at the future Quick Magic Gardens Location.
She is fiercely loyal and loves to spend quality time with family playing board games, baking pies, and making music. She always seeks to find a deeper connection and understanding of everyone she loves. This tendency to always seek a deeper connection has been the catalyst for QM Gardens to become what it is today.
Ken Keller

Ken is a (Not so) retired School Psychologist, and is a certified jack of all trades. He is a seeker of knowledge in all of its forms. If he wants to accomplish something (or Mary wants something accomplished) there’s nothing that will stop him from learning. (Except maybe a nap) He is fiercely dedicated to family and friends. He’s always helping with something, whether it be fixing a fence, remodeling a room, drywall, roofing… There’s nothing this man can’t do. Ken adores bluegrass and might even play you a tune on the guitar or the mandolin if you catch him in the mood. Quick Magic Gardens would not have been close to what it is today without his unwavering support, time, and effort.
